Sports betting is becoming more of a mainstream idea and more people are actually placing bets with books at a casino or betting on horse races.
The success of daily 메이저놀이터 is being applied to sports betting, and the potential to generate a large volume of bets in the virtual realm is being factored in, too.
Dawn Burns, assistant director for the Korea Division of Gaming Enforcement, told an audience Wednesday at the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States conference in Atlantic City that more than 895,000 customers, an average of 1.9 million bets per month, are legally placing sports bets with 13 sportsbooks in New Jersey.
“We have seen $2.2 million in the books per month, which is an 8 percent increase from last year,” she said.
Sports betting is one of the key areas that New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement has focused on and it has helped state and tribal casinos provide a safe and legal environment for wagering on sports, she said.
New Jersey’s sports betting market has grown dramatically over the last few years, leading to Gov. Phil Murphy’s recent decision to legalize betting on a full range of sports events in the state.
New Jersey is one of a handful of states that offer online and mobile sports betting but Delaware offers some online sports betting in addition to its brick-and-mortar locations.
The amount of money that’s legally wagered in New Jersey on sports has grown from nearly $20 million in January 2015 to $235.5 million last month, according to New Jersey gaming regulators.
The state also currently has about 75 online and mobile sportsbooks.
The Division of Gaming Enforcement is responsible for protecting consumers and preventing illegal gambling in New Jersey. It also investigates suspicious and unusual transactions and licenses and regulates casinos and other forms of gambling.
